And this is how it all ended, with a one-of-a-kind encore, a performance of 40 to close out the 40th show at Sphere.
As With or Without You ends, the Sphere is covered with endangered creatures indigenous to Nevada, bathed in sepia tones. This is followed by Beautiful Day, during which the creatures come "back to life" in a spectacular display of colors.
"See the bird with the leaf in her mouth. After the flood, all the colors came out. It was a beautiful day. Don't let it get away."
Finally, for 40, those creatures swim in waves of brilliant color themes.
