(After a brief period of uncertainty, U2 would reinvent themselves
and rock the foundations of Mattopia with ZOO-TV.)
At the start of 2002, I knew I was in for a year of "transition."
I had no idea, though, that it would actually turn into my very own ZOO-TV.
I know I lost some of you with that statement.
Too bad. But do keep reading. It'll be an education.
For the rest of you, sit back, relax, and soak it all up.
Note: This is a work in progress.
As such, there are still a lot of rough spots.
Some stuff is missing altogether, like the gap between the Elevation Tour diary
and this, the Mattnik Era. (That part will include a Bronx Cheer to those so deserving.)
But I'll take care of all those things at a more convenient time.
For now, it's time to dream it all up yet again.
Oh yeah.
There's one thing to remember as you read this:
YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD MATT DOWN.
