80,000-100,000 people on a field in Ireland!

Coldplay - turned down stadium shows with Aerosmith, couldn't turn this down Chris introduced Yellow by saying, "This is not a rebel song."

There was also a wedding proposal for a couple in the crowd - perfect introduction for their song Trouble

Red Hot Chili Peppers - dedicated Californication to lawn security guy out on a secured section of the lawn, standing all by himself. Encouraged everybody (boys and girls) to wave their shirts like a helicopter - a great effect from the top of the hill.

U2:

"Slippy" - Bono slides down catwalk with girl during mysterious ways, "Kind of fun, but…"

Bono - Yellow reference

Pride

Bad

A Sort of Homecoming

Bono at the tip of the heart in Slane - icon of icons

Beautiful Day, Walk On, One - references to Bob Hewson - on screens, pictures of Bob, scenes of him in the German One video. Then the screen freeze frames with the words "Bob Hewson, 19xx - 2001."

Heart stage looked smaller

Fireworks after 2:05 set wanted them to play more

Larry: Started the band and can end it any day

It felt like a primal gathering

Bono called for a statue for Philip Lynott of Thin Lizzy

Opening canned music: The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy! U2 opened for Thin Lizzy in Slane

Covered Thin Lizzy - Dublin, Dancing in the Moonlight "Thanks for being patient," Bono said. "It took 20 years for us to get here."

"We're not going away yet." "We played like crap," Bono recalls of Slane 20 years ago.

A special show - Bono the person, the human, the father's son

Kite / Wake up Dead Man - lighters / paper cups aflame like torches

Fireworks after 2:05 set; everybody, naturally, wanted them to play more

Slane: Where the streets have no lights

After: Camp out, techno music all night; football game horns blowing all night
